Here Comes the Summer!

Fun

Can you feel it? It’s almost here. The summer has a certain sense of effortless hope and electricity, even in the oppressive Florida heat. I guess you can’t deny the innate sense that you need to take the afternoon off and go do something fun or leave work early and head to the beach that you feel this time of year.I read recently about summer bucket lists; things that you want to do before the end of the summer. As some of you all know, I’m list obsessed, especially bucket lists. I love accomplishments and stepping away from the everyday. So with that said, here’s my bucket list for a summer of fun. By the way, the fun begins tonight with the GOKickball Summer Season Meet and Greet at Yard of Ale from 7:30 -10:30 p.m. (sorry, had to get that plug in.)

  1. Run the Peachtree Road Race- It was my first foray back into running after a long layoff.
  2. United Family Reunion
  3. To not suck at the United Family Reunion Gold Tournament- Wanna have some fun and not get up at 6:00 in the morning to struggle in Orlando sun for four hours.
  4. Have fun running GOKickball Tampa- I’m playing again, which will be fun. And I’m trying to get out of my own head and take the short comings of running a league a little easier.
  5. Get two more writing assignments
  6. Volunteering at church
  7. Play Putt Putt golf
  8. Start cycling again- I miss urban bicycle exploring!
  9. Start my online sports radio show again- Looking for co-hosts!
  10. Road Trip
  11. Go to the Y, a lot.-  I need to get some value out of my membership and train to run hills again.
  12. Make a vision board- It’s a practice that I fervently participated in while “The Secret” was hot a few years ago. I think there is great power in seeing your goals on day in, day out basis and so I’m going back to it.
  13. Go to Rays games- Gotta do it. Starting with Rays vs. Braves on Saturday. Anyone want to go?
  14. Lots of grillin’

I will add to this list as I think of things. Here’s to a tremendous summer!!!
