Day 2 in Tampa
As sit here eating a piece of my mom's lemon-coconut cake (yummo!) I'm going to tell you what's up inTampa.A really unfortunate thing happened to about seven car owners today at Sheriss' church. Prior to communion today, a minster made the annoucement that seven cars had been broken into and then named those cars. Not that I wish anyhting bad on anyone, but my heart was in my throat as he listed a bunch of makes and models that wasn't our car. I couldn't help but thank God when he got to the bottom of the list. However, I do feel awful for those that did get their cars broken into. Even though Rev. Burrougs said that possesions aren't everything, it's a personal space violation, it's a loss of stuff, it's embarrasing (the violated had to leave to tend their cars in the middle of service), and it's a pain in the rear.Otherwise, service was good. It's interesting attending a mainstream chruch after months of going to a non-conventional church. While the production is grander and much more ritualistic, the message is pretty much the same. People are struggling; they need to have faith to get through it. He even talked about how Jesus was not what the people of his time were expecting when they were looking for a savior; a message Shuan has been talking about for weeks.Spent the rest of the day with my folks and, eventually, hangin with Dave at P.F. Chang's; love those crispy sping rolls. Anyway, tomorrow I'm going to pick a specific topic and roll with it.
